Deflating My Vocabulary

Today Gran Gran skived off work early and came over and took me away, much to my mother’s relief. Saying I have been difficult would be charitable, and Mommy needed a break in a major way.

Granny and I partied hard with trips to Tesco, visiting her place for some rhubarb yogurt and off to her parents’ house for a visit.

My great-granddad is normally in a fantastic mood, and I love going over there for a visit. However today was different, and nothing any of us did or said seemed to cheer him up.

As I was sitting on Gran Gran’s lap, I realized my bum was about to explode. I let out a humongous fart, and didn’t know what to do after that. I mean, what can I say? I couldn’t blame it on anyone else, as my family saw and heard me let it rip.

After thinking for a few seconds, I exclaimed, “Fart!”, and my great-granddad doubled over laughing. He was all smiles for the remainder of our visit.

I’ll have to remember that word and repeat it over and over again for practice!

Sleepy Baby

When doesn't he sleep?

Mom likes to refer to Thursdays as Mental Health Day. I have to admit that I enjoy Thursdays too, because on that day I frolic with many many other wonderful and chubby babies, and we all have a bit of a natter.

After our playgroup gathering today me, Louis, Mommy and Louis’ Mommy Anna went shopping at Tesco. Both of our mommies promised the shop would be quick, but you know how it goes. We had to walk down every stinkin’ aisle because sometimes mothers just can’t help themselves.

Anyway, the conversation I was having with Louis got a little boring because he was sucking on his dummy and his voice was muffled and sloppy. We started to argue over Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Louis’ position is Tolstoy’s intense sensibility and temperament added a unique dimension to his creative process which enhances the men and women of his novels, as well as their experiences, with amazing life-affirming qualities. Although that may be a compelling argument, I didn’t make it past W&P’s third chapter, electing to read the ever so stimulating The Very Hungry Caterpillar instead.

As our conversation continued, Louis began to drift off to sleep, and I did everything in my power to wake him. I tugged on his ears, with no response. I poked his eyeball area, and I got nothing. Afterwards he began snoring, so I decided to leave him be.

Sleep well Louis old pal….
